One of my favorite places for brunch on a Saturday or Sunday is the Rusty Pelican. The atmosphere is incredibly relaxed and the surrounding area is absolutely gorgeous with a bay front view. The food is to die for and the Best Bloody Mary cocktail is one-of-a-kind with its mixture of spices - perfect after a long night (if you know what I mean). If a bloody mary is not your thing, the Tequila Sunrise is not a bad choice with tequila, creme de cassis, fresh squeezed orange juice, sweet n sour and grenadine. Again, if tequila is not your thing, the bottomless (and they mean bottomless) mimosas are always a great alternative.
Every time I visit the Rusty Pelican, I order the same thing - the Huevos Rancheros. This dish is served with hot corn tortillas, black beans, cheddar cheese, scrambled eggs, sour cream and fresh salsa. The main reason I continue to order this entree is the salsa, which is nothing short of amazing. They're not kidding when they say FRESH salsa!
I continue to go back to the Rusty Pelican for brunch because the service is exceptional and the staff is extremely personable and friendly. This a great spot to go to with family, friends or significant others. It is spacious and provides people with a large enough menu to find something they will enjoy.
I highly recommend you visit the Rusty Pelican in Newport Beach, if you haven't already. It's an Orange County must!
