If you read my blog on Friday, you knew I was headed out to Javier’s this weekend to kick off what I like to refer to as “Birthday Month.” We had two birthdays and a half birthday to celebrate… don’t worry there was even a half flan that arrived at our table, but more on that later.
Our group, eight in total, decided that we wanted to go to a place that had a good dinner to after dinner transition, dim lighting, and of course… awesome food. I’m happy to report that Javier’s went above and beyond my expectations.
First, I loved the décor; it felt like you were in a candle lit cave. While there were a lot of people there – I never felt like it was too loud. The service was also over the top, I don’t think my margarita glass ever got below half full – this restaurant knew the key to my heart.
I ordered the lobster enchiladas. They were outstanding. The lobster was fresh and the dish as a whole wasn’t too big or too greasy. While this is not a family style restaurant after the fourth pitcher of margaritas, we started sharing. I’m happy to report that everyone else’s food was outstanding too.
After dinner, a birthday flan was brought to the table, along with a half birthday flan. Now, I like flan – always have, but the half-birthday boy didn’t quite know what he was getting into, but Javier’s can rest easy. He liked it.
Overall, I’d say this place is excellent and would highly recommend it.
