After studying abroad in Florence, I came home craving authentic Italian pizza. Luckily, I found Pizzeria Ortica to solve this dilemma. Located across from South Coast Plaza, this restaurant is a taste of Italy right in our own backyard!  They use traditional techniques and an 800-degree wood-burning oven to make their Neapolitan style pizzas. Take a seat in the bar to enjoy some of their happy hour specials.

Pizzeria Ortica has a traditional happy hour Sunday through Thursday from 5-7pm, with $5 antipasti and amazing drink specials. The Zuppe di Cozze is a flavorful mussel dish with a hint of spice. Definitely order the Arancini! These deep fried rice balls have a cheesy surprise in the middle. Signature cocktails are $7 and wine by the glass is just $5!

They also have a reverse happy hour from 8-10 pm Sunday through Thursday. This menu features their delicious pizza! The basic Margarita pizza is $7 and features crushed San Marzano tomatoes, mozzarella, and basil. From there, you can basically build your own pizza. Toppings range from Prosciutto di Parma to house-made sausage. Any combination you choose is sure to be amazing!
